Under God, the People Rule...

at least that's what South Dakota says.

As a VERY long day four comes to a close, you'll find me freshly showered sitting on my bed at the hotel with Frasier carrying on in the background while Ray cleans the stink of the road off himself. We're set up at the La Quinta Inn in Rapid City. This one comes equipped with a whole indoor water park! Sadly, no trunks.

So, as you all know, the morning started out with snow. Lots of snow. It didn't stop until after we drove for about an hour and a half at a top speed of maybe 45-50 mpg. So, our eight hour, twenty minute drive became a ten and a half hour drive. Through more prairie land. And more wind. I'm ready for urban life again. This is all becoming a blur of nothingness. The only things of strange interest to really mention is Wyoming is apparently the land of closed rest areas and trucks with oversized loads. Most of which were carrying double wides. We also were able to see Devil's Tower, albeit from many miles away.

Yes, it's that small speck in the middle of the photo. It had been a long trip by the time we made it to the road that goes out that way. No way were making that trek.

Tomorrow should be a little more exciting. We get to head to Mt. Rushmore and the Badlands. I'm hoping to actually see Mt. Rushmore this time through since 4.5 years ago when I did the whole "Manifest Destiny" thing in the first place Justin and I couldn't find it. Don't laugh, we followed the signs, and they led us back to the freeway. Tomorrow I find out if it really is a government conspiracy. I'll take photos... IF!

Anyhow, it's time to wind down and hopefully get some good sleep tonight. Very tired. Good night!
